SC Johnson Raid “Certified Care” Campaign
In Rwanda, malaria disproportionately impacts one group more than any other - women. Not only do women live with the highest risk of infection, but for generations, they have been seen as the defacto caregivers for those suffering from malaria, and caring for those people becomes an unofficial job.
While these women spend most of their lives caring for others and developing years of invaluable experience, they are unable to earn a living wage from it. In partnership with the Society for Family Health-Rwanda, Raid launched Certified Care - a vocational program officially certifying women as Community Healthcare Workers and finally giving them a way to earn a living wage for something they've spent a lifetime doing. Caring. We turned women's unofficial and unpaid roles as caregivers into official, paid positions so that they can build the future they deserve for themselves and their families.
